The Girl Who Couldn’t Quite 1950

The teenage Ruth has never been able to smile since she was a young girl. Pamela, her mother, notices one morning that she is laughing and learns from the girl that she overheard a man singing outside the house, something which amused her. Pamela decides to invite the man in if this will help Ruth, but he turns out to be a tramp called Tim. Despite this he is invited to stay and quickly strikes up a friendship with Ruth whose personality begins to improve. The tramp also teaches her about being charitable to others.
