Magic Voyage of Sinbad

In 1962, Roger Corman’s Filmgroup released the 1953 Russian film “Sadko” in a slightly shortened, English dubbed version which was renamed “The Magic Voyage of Sinbad,” presumably to cash in on the popularity of Harryhausen’s “Seventh Voyage of Sinbad” of 1958. The dubbed version pretty much follows the structure of the Russian original with the only deletions being musical numbers.

The English titles are pretty much completely phony with Anglicized names disguising both the Russian origins of the film and the participation of Corman and his youthful protege, Francis Ford Coppola.
