The Big Trees Kirk Douglas Eve Miller Alan Hale Jr

This Technicolor movie is set in 1900 in Northern California. The US has just passed a law allowing for the logging of the large Redwood trees if anyone is willing to take on the challenge Jim Fallon (Kirk Douglas) is greedy business who has to deal with folks who are already there, including a Quaker Colony. The film features spectacular scenery from northern California, double crossing partners and love interests so it really has something for everyone. This was Kirk Douglas’s last film for Warner Bros and he did it for no charge in exchange for letting him out of the typical studio contract he was in.
